Ranji Trophy


On Saturday, the 10th of February, in the Ranji Trophy 2024 Round 6 Elite Group A match, Vidarbha maintained a dominant position against Maharashtra. Karun Nair played a brilliant inning, scoring 128 runs off 205 deliveries. Nair struck 18 boundaries in his innings as Vidarbha amassed a commanding total of 439/6 in reply to Maharashtra's first-inning score of 208. However, Uttar Pradesh's batsmen failed to shine.

Sports Desk, New Delhi. Rishi Dhawan (unbeaten 95) and opener Praveen Thakur's 85 half-centuries propelled Himachal Pradesh to a 47-run lead against Delhi in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group D match on the second day of play. Himachal Pradesh has scored 311/8 at the close of play, having lost eight wickets.

In the Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match, Uttar Pradesh's batsmen failed to shine in the first innings. On the second day, UP dismissed Andhra for 261 runs, with three wickets each from Yash Dayal and Ankit Rajpoot. Andhra's KV Sasikanth displayed a strong performance with the ball, taking five wickets. UP could only manage to score 198 runs in their first inning. By the end of the day's play, Andhra had scored 19 runs for the loss of one wicket in their second inning, leading by 82 runs.

Haryana dominates Jharkhand.
Powered by Jayant Yadav's 4 wickets and Sumit Kumar's 3 wickets, Haryana gained control against Jharkhand on the second day of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group A match. After Ankit Kumar's century and Himanshu Rana's half-century, Rahul Tewatia (144) and Sumit Kumar (86) contributed to Haryana's total of 509 runs in the first inning.

In response, Jharkhand's batting faltered. By the close of play, Jharkhand had scored 199 runs for the loss of nine wickets, trailing by 390 runs and facing the threat of a follow-on.
