Pace bowler JaspritBumrah might be given a break during the ongoing test series between India and England. This assertion was made by a cricket website. According to a report, it is yet to be decided whether Bumrah will feature in the fifth and final test in Dharamshala, with the decision depending on the outcome of the fourth test set to commence on February 23.

 

Bumrah, aged 30, stands as the leading wicket-taker against England in this series. He has secured a total of 17 wickets in three matches. The report mentioned that Team India will fly from Rajkot to Ranchi on Tuesday, February 20, and the likelihood of Bumrah traveling with the team seems bleak. They might head from Rajkot to Ahmedabad on Monday. There is no indication of any other player missing the next test. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not issued any official statement.

Under workload management, Bumrah is being afforded rest to keep him fresh for the final test. Bumrah has claimed 17 wickets in this series. He has bowled 80.5 overs in three matches, leading selectors to believe that he requires a break.
